About the Owner

Kristi first visited Cedar City in 2017, and right away, something just clicked. The charm, the warmth, the small-town feel — it all felt like home long before she ever lived here.

Her beauty journey began in 2021 in Southern California, where she opened her first salon suite. What started as a single room quickly grew into a shared space with her best friend, and eventually into a full five-chair salon built on hard work, education, and a genuine love for the industry. It was a chapter fueled by passion and a vision that kept getting bigger.

The Move to Cedar City

In June 2024, Kristi and her family made the move to Cedar City. Within days, she was already building what she had always hoped to bring here — a warm, modern, elevated salon designed around connection, comfort, and great energy.

The Vision

Kristi created The Beauty Project with a simple intention:

to blend elevated service with an approachable, feel-good atmosphere.

She believes that beautiful hair starts with a beautiful experience — one that feels welcoming, personal, and fun. Every detail, from the vibe to the conversations, is meant to help clients feel relaxed, seen, and cared for.

The Culture

A major pillar of The Beauty Project is its team environment. Kristi wanted a salon where stylists support one another, continue to grow, and bring out the best in each other — no ego, no drama, just a positive space with good energy and shared success.

What Defines the Team:

• A drama-free, ego-free atmosphere

• Stylists who uplift and grow together

• Education, mentorship, and continued learning

• A positive, high-vibe environment clients can feel immediately

The Model

The Beauty Project is a hybrid salon, offering both commission and booth rental options to support stylists at every stage. It also includes an Assisting Program for new stylists, giving them hands-on training with Kristi and senior artists to build real skill and real confidence behind the chair.

The Space for Everyone

As a transplant herself, Kristi understands what it’s like to be new and looking for connection. Her goal was to create a salon that instantly feels welcoming — whether you’ve lived here forever or just arrived.

Clients often talk about the energy of the space: warm, relaxed, and different from anything else in town. That feeling is intentional.

"The Beauty Project was built to be more than a salon, it’s a place to belong."

With Love,

Kristi Cooley
